Andrzej Reiche – is an archaeologist, a University of Warsaw graduate in Mediterranean Archaeology, he has worked at the National Museum in Warsaw since 1974, currently responsible for the ancient Near East antiquities in the Collection of Ancient and East Christian Art. Since 1980 he has been involved in excavation missions of the Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw in the Middle East: Iraq (Tell as-Saadi, Bidhan Island on the Euphrates, Tell Ridżim, Nemrik), Syria (Tell Abu Hafur, Tell Djassa el-Gharbi, Rad Shakra, Tell Qaramel and Tell Arbid) and Kuwait (as-Sabbija-Muheira, Bahra 1). He has taken part in numerous international conferences on the archaeology of the ancient Middle East. He has written many articles based on studies of the antiquities in the Ancient Middle East in the collections of the National Museum, as well as reports on the outcomes of the excavations.
