Joanna A. Tomicka – art historian, graduate of the University of Warsaw, post-graduate studies at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Since 1996 she has served as the curator of European prints in the Department of Prints and Drawings of the National Museum in Warsaw. She has conducted research on Netherlandish, Dutch, Flemish and French prints of the sixteenth-eighteenth centuries, the reception of antiquity, humanistic emblematics and typography. She has received scholarships and fellowships from The Warburg Institute (University of London), The British Academy, Centre for Emblem Studies (University of Glasgow), British Museum, Catholic University of Leuven (Flemish Community), Houghton Library (Harvard University), Princeton University Library and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has authored and co-authored exhibitions and their catalogues, including Ars Mitologica – wokół zagadnień recepcji mitów greckich. Ceramika i rzeźba starożytna.
