Article submissions for the Rocznik Muzeum Narodowego w Warszawie. Nowa Seria / Journal of the National Museum in Warsaw. New Series are open until 15 January each year for the issue covering the previous year.
Authors submit articles that make a significant contribution to the fields covered by the journal. They must declare the originality of their works and confirm that they have not been previously published. The editorial team strictly excludes plagiarism, self-plagiarism, ghostwriting, false authorship and any other unethical publishing practices. Articles may be written in Polish or English. Submissions should be sent to: abaginska@mnw.art.pl or rocznik@mnw.art.pl.
In addition to the article, authors must submit: an abstract (max. 1,500 characters), a biographical note (max. 500 characters), a set of keywords, a bibliography of references, a list of illustrations, including information on reproduction rights and a complete set of illustrations in TIFF format with a resolution of 300 DPI. Authors should include their institutional affiliation and ORCID number in the article header.

The editorial team makes a preliminary decision to proceed with the article, provided it fits the journal’s thematic scope and meets academic, formal, ethical and linguistic standards. Authors may be asked to revise their text.
The article is then sent for peer review. The editorial team selects reviewers based on their expertise and research interests. The review is rigorous and constructive, while the review process is impartial, honest and follows the journal’s ethical guidelines. The editorial team ensures that no conflict of interest arises between reviewers and authors. Reviews are written using a standard form, available here.
Based on the peer reviews, the editorial team makes the final decision to accept or reject the article. Authors are asked to revise or supplement their submission according to reviewers’ comments or editorial recommendations.
The article undergoes language editing, followed by translation. At each stage, authors are informed of any changes made to the text. The article is subject to authorial approval and authors receive a proof for final corrections before publication.
Authors grant the publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence (CC BY 4.0) for the use of the article in the journal under a licence agreement, while retaining full copyright.
Authors do not receive a fee and do not incur any costs for publication or translation.
The article is published online in the respective issue of the journal at https://rocznik.mnw.art.pl by 28 February of the following year.
