Submissions to Rocznik Muzeum Narodowego w Warszawie. Nowa Seria / Journal of the National Museum in Warsaw. New Series remain open until January 15 of each year for the issue covering the previous year.
Authors are invited to submit articles that make a significant contribution to the fields addressed by the journal. They must declare that the articles are original and have not been published previously. The editorial team does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, undeclared or false authorship, or any other actions violating publication ethics. Articles may be written in Polish or English. Submissions should be sent to: abaginska@mnw.art.pl or rocznik@mnw.art.pl.
In addition to the article, authors are asked to provide: an abstract (max. 1500 characters), a short biographical note (max. 500 characters), a set of keywords, a reference bibliography, an illustration list with details on reproduction rights obtained, and a complete set of illustrations (TIFF format, 300 DPI). Please include your affiliation and ORCID number at the top of the article.
Articles must follow the text formatting guidelines available here.
To prevent plagiarism and self-plagiarism, the editorial team screens all submissions using the Crossref Similarity Check system with iThenticate software.
The editorial team makes a preliminary decision on whether to proceed with an article based on its relevance to the journal’s scope and whether it meets scholarly, formal, ethical, and linguistic requirements. Authors may be asked to revise their submissions.
Articles deemed suitable are then sent for peer review. When selecting reviewers, the editorial team considers their expertise and research interests. The review is thorough and constructive, conducted impartially and fairly, in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics. The editorial team ensures there is no conflict of interest between reviewers and authors. The review is submitted in writing using the form available here.
Based on the reviews, the editorial team makes the final decision to accept or reject the article. The article may be returned to the authors for revisions or additions suggested by the reviewers or resulting from scholarly editing.
Subsequently, the article undergoes language editing and translation. Authors are informed of any changes at each stage of the process. The article is also sent to the authors for final approval and post-layout proofreading.
By submitting their articles, authors grant the publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free license (CC BY 4.0) for the use of their work in the journal under a licensing agreement. Authors retain unrestricted copyright.
No honoraria are paid to authors, and they incur no expenses related to preparing the article for publication or for translation.
Articles are published in the relevant issue of the journal on the website rocznik@mnw.art.pl by February 28 of the following year.
